Healthcare For Children
Unfortunately, not all jobs provide health care benefits, and buying a private health plan is too costly for many of us. That is why the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) was created. Your children—infants to teens—may qualify for health insurance at no cost to you. For example; a family of four with a monthly income less than $2,206 qualifies for the program. CHIP provides insurance to working and non-working families. It allows you—parents, grandparents, guardians—to get the health insurance coverage your children need and deserve.
Participation in the CHIP program should be maximized. The Federal Government provides eighty percent of the cost of the program. Your tax dollars provide that eighty percent. It is foolish and irresponsible not to provide these benefits to families who cannot afford healthcare for their children. The situation will not improve since it is very likely that more small businesses will drop their group health insurance plans as they receive premium increases for this year of close to twenty percent
