BONNIE DOUGLAS

Idaho House of Representatives
District 4

MY BACKGROUND

I have a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois and am presently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology at the University of Idaho. My background includes business systems analysis and managerial positions in the banking and insurance industries. I have been licensed as a stockbroker and an insurance agent.

I have been married for 27 years. My husband, Ron, is a podiatrist and a lifelong resident of Coeur d’Alene. We have two children, Ann and Carrie. Ron brought me to live in this beautiful city in 1986. We enjoy fishing and he likes backpacking into mountain lakes. We are active in our church where we participate in music ministry.

Like many women in Idaho I have at times worked at several part-time jobs and have had a home business. For over 10 years I have volunteered as a La Leche League leader providing mother-to-mother support for moms and their babies. I have learned about consensus building through the Spokane League of Women's Voters. I know how to listen and make suggestions for changing situations.

I formerly served as an Idaho State Legislator in 2002 to 2004. The NRA assigned me a rating of A- during that period. I have been very active in the community in children and family issues. I have also served as the Education Committee Chair Person for the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce.
